Writer's Workshop at Ames
Although:
SPPS Literacy Framework referenced to ensure grade level standards.
Grammar, usage and spelling incorporated into mini lesson.
Handwriting and word processing skills are also a part of the writer’s workshop.
Cursive begun in latter second grade, introduced again in third and continued thru sixth.

Ames Math Curriculum
Math Routines
Vocabulary -Each class will begin with a new vocabulary word(s) on the board for students to copy down into their portfolio/binder.
Corrections -Each day the class will correct the assigned homework from the night before and review any problem areas.
Daily Assignments -Daily Assignments will be assigned on a regular basis and will be due the following class unless specified otherwise.
Quizzes -Quizzes will be given out periodically during a book/unit.
Tests/Projects -Tests/Projects will be given out at the completion of a book/unit.
Portfolio/Binder -Students will be expected to keep this/her portfolio organized and must bring it to class each day.
