Ames Elementary is truly a great neighborhood school! We
strongly support family involvement. Parents and community members are
always welcome at Ames. We have lots of fun and exciting family events
throughout the year. We have Infomational Nights, monthly Site Council
meetings, Choral Programs, African American Family/ Community Night,
Hmong Celebration, Cinco de Mayo, Science Fair, Fun Fest, Rummage Sale,
and this year an AWESOME new playground built surrounded by many fun
fundraising events and celebrations!
We have a Family Resource Room at Ames.
We have information on housing, medical, school, etc. Nancy Spack
is always available to answer questions and offer assistance. She's
approachable, friendly, kind and desiring to help. Please don't
hesitate to call with any questions or concerns or comments. We're here
to help.
Our Parent Support Council and Site Council meet
monthly. We encourage all families to attend. This is a great
opportunity for parents, staff, administration and community to talk to
with one another and gain information on what's happening at
school. We also served light dinner before the meeting.
