School Social Workers are the link between home, school, and community. As child/parent advocates, we are part of the Special Education Team and work closely with teachers, administrators, pupil services staff, and parents. School Social Workers help develop plans and work directly with students to promote and support academic and social success by providing specialized services including:
- individual and group counseling
- crisis prevention and intervention
- home visits
- social-developmental assessments
- information and referral
- collaboration with community agencies and organizations
- coordinate services for individual families
